Jamie Yu

Meng-Chieh Yu

Jamie is an experienced piano instructor with a passion for music and teaching. With over eight years of teaching experience in Canada and the United States, Jamie has honed her skills in providing practical and personalized lessons. Born in Taiwan and currently residing in Canada, Jamie's journey in music began at the age of four when she started playing the piano. She pursued her education in the United States, graduating from California State University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in music education specializing in classical piano. During her undergraduate years, Jamie studied under Professor Dr. Polli Chambers-Salazar and Dr. Stephen Moore. She also had the privilege of performing at the New York Carnegie Hall with the El Camino College choir, directed by Dr. Joanna M. Nachef. In 2021, Jamie furthered her education by obtaining a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Prince Edward Island. Her expertise allows her to create customized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning style and goals. In Spring 2024, Jamie received the RCM Smart Start Certificate, further enhancing her ability to prepare students from beginner to advanced levels aiming to pass the Royal Conservatory of Music Exam (RCM).
