GGS to Take Part in Virtual Concert Featuring Music Students from Around the World

Performance opportunities have been in short supply since the beginning of the pandemic. Fortunately, music students from around the world have been invited to take part in a collaborative international concert organized by Germany-based Staatsoper Stuttgart and Staatsorchester Stuttgart. The collaborative presentation will stream on Staatsoper Stuttgart on Saturday, May 8.

Barry Shiffman, Associate Dean of The Glenn Gould School played a major role in organizing the performance submission, which brought together GGS students, faculty members and 2019-20 Rebanks Fellow, Byungchan Lee.

“The lifeblood of a young musician, the lifeblood of any musician really, is feeling how the music goes out to an audience and comes back” reflects Mr. Shiffman. “Even though we're in this virtual world, we know that you will be listening to this music, and we will be performing as though you are sitting right in front of us.”

We hope you enjoy this advance screening of their special performance.
