Yijun Liu

I hold a Master's degree in Piano Performance from Temple University in the United States, where I had the privilege of studying under the mentorship of internationally renowned concert pianists Professor Huang Christine and the esteemed American pianist Clipper Erickson. My dedication to excellence in piano performance led to numerous invitations to participate in international masterclasses, where I had the privilege of honing my skills under the guidance of distinguished mentors such as Gary Graffman, Dean of the Curtis Institute of Music and renowned pianist Lang Lang's mentor; Veda Kaplinsky, Chair of the Piano Department at the Juilliard School; and Professor Matti Raekallio, also at the Juilliard School. During my time in the United States, I played a pivotal role in organizing the prestigious New York International Piano Competition and Music Festival, contributing to the promotion of classical music and nurturing emerging talents. My dedication to my craft has been recognized through several noteworthy awards, including: First Prize at the 2013 Hong Kong-Asia International Piano Open Competition, with the esteemed Chopin Award. Second Prize at the 2016 St. Andrews International Piano Competition in Canada. A Special Performance Award at the 2018 New York Juilliard School Masterclass. Furthermore, my commitment to teaching and mentorship has yielded outstanding results, as my students have consistently achieved first place in prestigious competitions, including the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival Piano Competition, the Unionville Music Competition, and the North York Music Festival.
