Bio
After an unexpected encounter with fate, Xue Feng started studying at the China Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing at the age of nine. She uncovered her virtuosity under the guidance of violin professors Xiao-Zhi Huang, Wei-jian Zhao, and Hua-Cheng Si Tu, earning herself a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.
From 1988 to 1994, Xue Feng served as the Assistant Concertmaster in the National Chamber Orchestra in China. As a soloist, she has performed with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, and the National Chamber Orchestra.
From 1994 to 1998, she served as the Assistant Concertmaster in the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra during her time in Colombia. With the ensemble, she has performed the concertos of Brahms, Bruch, and Prokofiev.
After arriving in Canada, Xue Feng found her current home in the first violin section of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in 1998, where she has been performing since. She also enjoys devoting her time to teach nowadays and is a member of the Vancouver Academy of Music faculty.
