Vernon Shewchuk

Hi, I am a professional - musician, educator, and mixing engineer. I have a Bachelor of Music from UBC In percussion performance. I studied percussion with John Rudolph (principal percussionist of Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Toronto Symphony Orchestra), Tony Phillips (percussionist of Vancouver Symphony Orchestra), and Fred Hinger (timpanist of Metropolitan Opera, and Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra). I also studied drum set with Graham Boyle (Vancouver session Jazz drummer and student of Joe Porcaro). I have extensive teaching and professional performing experience. My professional performing experience has taken me from clubs, cruise ships, concert halls, to stadiums. I am currently the head of drum, percussion, and ensemble departments at Mozart School of Music in Burnaby BC. In the short time I have been preparing students for RCM exams (8 years), I have had 17 gold medal winning students (including 3 national gold medal winners). I offer drum, percussion, and theory lessons in my home studio. Please send inquiries for lessons from the form on this website, thank you. Regards Vernon Shewchuk (B of M percussion performance, UBC)
