Tao Tao

Pianist Tao Tao is a highly accomplished musician, holding a Doctoral degree from the Universite de Montreal, where she is currently pursuing her advanced studies under the guidance of esteemed pianist and educator Jean Saulnier. She completed her Artist Diploma program at the Conservatoire de musique de Montreal under the mentorship of renowned Canadian pianist Andre Laplante. Tao Tao earned her Bachelor's degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston, studying with Alexander Korsantia, and a Master's degree from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University under the tutelage of Alexander Shtarkman. Beginning her musical journey in a musically inclined family, Tao received her first piano lesson at the age of 8. She showcased her prodigious talent by giving her first solo recital in China at the age of 12 and made her orchestra debut in 2009. Passionate and expressive in her approach to music, Tao has captivated audiences across the U.S, Europe, and Asia. She has been invited to perform at prestigious events and festivals such as the Walnut Hill Summer Camp in Boston, SiChuan International Music Festival, ChangChun International Music Festival, Orford Musique, Salzburg Mozarteum Music Festival, and Piano Summer at New Paltz, New York. Her performances have graced renowned venues, including Liaoning Theater, Keiter Center, Mozarteum Wiener Saal, Bosendorfersaal, and Friedberg Hall. In addition to numerous scholarships, Tao has garnered acclaim in provincial and national competitions, including the Ameri-China International Music Foundation Elite Audition and the 2020 Liao Ning Province 1st Online Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists. Throughout her musical journey, Tao has collaborated with distinguished musicians, such as Leon Fleisher, Andre Laplante, Denis Brott, Matti Raekallio, Hung-Kuan Chen, Robert Levin, Alexander Toradze, Vladimir Feltsman, and Pavel Gililov.
