Stephan Ermel (he/him) is a Toronto-based music director, musician, and educator with over fifteen years of experience. He is the Resident Music Director of YES Theatre in Sudbury and - in addition to his position as Vocal Music Professor at George Brown College Theatre School - maintains an active career in the musical theatre industry. Stephan has worked for companies across Ontario including Stratford, The Royal Conservatory of Music, Sheridan College, The Grand Theatre in London, Hart House, Talk is Free and Bad Hats as well as internationally as far as Buenos Aries.
Stephan's greatest passion, however, lies in education and he takes great pride in his active teaching practice. He has taught hundreds of students ranging from beginner to advanced in both piano and voice. His teaching philosophy is centered around finding what brings his students joy and using that to channel their energies and eventually find their own unique, artistic voice.
Stephan is a graduate of the George Brown Theatre School and holds an Associate Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
