Spencer Kryzanowski

Spencer Kryzanowski

I am a collaborative pianist, music director, teacher, and coach based in Edmonton. I have accompanied numerous choirs in the province including the Accord Ensemble and the University of Alberta Concert Choir. As a repetiteur and music director, I have recently worked on productions of Gilbert and Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore (Opera NUOVA, 2017), Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (Opera Nuova, 2017), Michael Cavanaugh’s Y2K Black Death Oratorio (Pop Goes the Opera, 2018), Puccini’s Suor Angelica (Pop Goes the Opera, 2019), Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (Pop Goes the Opera, 2019), and Puccini’s La Bohème (Mercury Opera, 2019 & 2020). Currently, I am the resident repetiteur for Pop Goes the Opera, a regular collaborator with Mercury Opera, and a staff pianist and coach at the University of Alberta. I also run a piano and theory studio from my home in Edmonton. Away from the piano, I can be found practicing yoga, venturing in nature by foot and bike, and spending time with Jacob, my partner, and Jerry, our cat.
