I've been performing, teaching, living, breathing music all of my life. The approach to teaching is comprehensive: centered on the piano and the traditional literature, but well supplemented by theoretical and historical perspective and performance practice, including modern music such as Jazz, Pop, Progressive Rock. Performance experience includes playing major Concerti with orchestra in Canada and the US, performing as pianist in Porgy and Bess in US and Trinidad, playing with a Disco band in Atlantic City, many solo and chamber music concerts, and, facilitating a Summer Camp for young pianists aged 9-18. I have moved back to my native Canada - Kelowna BC and am teaching full time at Kelowna Community Music School. I am a member of the College of Examiners of the RCM. My students do well on their RCM exams, and I used that system as a tool to improve young musicians, but it's not for everyone - I use an individualistic approach tailored to each student - all ages and abilities.
