Nicole Zimmer

Hello, My name is Nicole Zimmer. I am an experienced piano and theory teacher, teaching both individually and in groups depending on the needs of the students. I completed my A.R.C.T. through the RCM, am a Registered Music Teacher and have been teaching privately for almost 24 years as well as being a Music for Young Children teacher for 13 years.  I also enjoy teaching composition and I have had students win regional, national and international awards. Mostly, I hope to instill a love and appreciation of music, help nurture my student's musical expression and am incredibly thankful to be part of their musical journies. In addtion to teaching, I am the secretary for the Trail/Castlegar BCRMTA, and have been the Chair/President for the Kootenay Festival of the Arts in Trail, BC. since 2015.  It is exciting and fun to be a part of such wonderful music communities both near and far. At this time, due to COVID-19 and social distancing, I am teaching on-line using several video platforms such as FaceTime and ZOOM.  As an MYC and private teacher, I will continue to teach and connect this way, until we can all be together again in studio.  I am fortunate to be able to do so.  Happy music making!
