Since graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor's and Master's in Music Education, I have been heavily involved with music performance and teaching.
As a performer, I've had the privilege to grace the stages of many venues across the GTA, including Massey Hall and the Roy Thomson Hall (alongside the Toronto Symphony Orchestra). Currently, I am an instrumentalist with a community orchestra (OCMS), and we perform 3 concerts a season, often partnering with local artists and musical groups. Since 2005, I have taught piano, violin, voice, and theory in my private studio to students ranged from 4-65. I've prepared them for various exams, festivals, recitals/concerts, and auditions.
My experience in Childhood Music Education, Special Education, and Orff Education have helped me create and modify lessons for specific needs and help to foster a love for music.
I'm currently a Music Teacher with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). I've taught and directed mixed choirs, strings ensembles, band ensembles, full orchestra, ukulele ensembles, and chamber groups. We perform at our seasonal school concerts, various festivals, and community music events.
As an affiliate of many music organizations, such as the Ontario Music Educator's Association (OMEA), Ontario College of Teachers (OCT), Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO), Carl Orff Canada, and Ontario Strings Association (OSA), I'm constantly seeking new opportunities to update my teaching pedagogy and experiment with new things.
When I'm not doing anything music-related, I like to read, travel, and play with my fur babies.
