Lise Boutin

Lise Boutin is a violinist originally from northern Quebec. She holds a Masters Degree in Performance from the University of Toronto where she studied with Lorand Feneyes and Ruggiero Ricci (Ann Arbor, Michigand ) and the Orford String Quartet. Lise discovered the Baroque violin while studying early music performance practices. She was a member of Tafelmusik, the Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montreal and performed with the Aradia Baroque Ensemble in Toronto. . In the summer of 1986, Lise also performed a rediscoved score of Sacrati, La Finta Pazza, under the direction of Alan Curtis at the Teatro La Fenice in Venise. After moving to western Canada, she was a member of Pacific Baroque Orchestra in Vancouver. She has been concertmaster of the Calgary Bach Orchestra, a member of Kensington Sinfonia, assistant concertmaster of the Phantom of the Opera, guest concertmaster for the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and the Brandon Chamber Players, and has also performed with several other symphony orchestras across the country. In addition to her orchestral involvement, Lise regularly performs in various chamber music groups and collaborates on numerous musical projects. Currently, she regularly plays with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, holds the principal chair of the second violin section of the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra, is music director of Sinfonia Allegro and is a member of Rosa Barocca. While continuing to be an active performer, Lise also continues to teach at her renowned studio in Lethbridge and in 2018 received the Teacher of the Year Award from the Alberta Strings Association.
