Hi! My name is Linda. I have my BMOS (UWO), ARCT, am a registered music teacher with ORMTA and have over 22 years of private teaching experience, teaching in homes and within 5 elementary schools on the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board, one on the Avon Maitland School Board and at Académie Ste-Cécile International School. Young students usually start at around 5 years old but I teach all ages/levels and have experience teaching students with special needs. Theory is incorporated in each weekly 30 min, 45 min or 1 hour lesson. I use concepts students already know and help students apply it to music. I can prepare for RCM exams, music festivals, auditions, and I host at least 3 recitals each year in a fantastic performance hall I am grateful to have access to. I follow the RCM syllabus but want students to play what they want to as well: mainstream, movie/video game themes, jazz, classical... I have a fantastic relationship with all my students, use a points-based system to encourage practicing for those motivated by rewards. Lessons are customized to suit individual abilities, preferences and goals. I teach at Académie Ste-Cécile campuses as well in homes.
