Leila MacKenzie

From an early age I had two aspirations in life: I wanted to play piano well and I also wanted to be a nurse. My first experience with piano lessons was short-lived though, because the piano teacher's husband was transferred out of the province after one year of lessons. So, after high school I entered Regina Grey Nuns Hospital and became a Registered Nurse. I appreciate having had a very rewarding and satisfying career nursing which continues to influence my life. It was much later that I returned to my other love, piano music. I continue to attend piano pedagogy classes offered by Cassa Musical Arts (Calgary AB) in person and now online most summers and tune in to Webinars connected with the teaching of piano regularly. It is so important to be inspired myself if I wish to inspire and teach others.
