Ken Nachtigal

Over many years, I have taught cello students from the age of 4-80. I often use traditional approaches : technique, etudes, and repertoire in my teaching. However, I have also used movie themes, pop, rock, and other genres to have students learn about the technique required to play the cello. They are enjoying themes from "Lord of the Rings", "Harry Potter", "Wizard of Oz", and others while developing their cello technique! I make considerable efforts to develop rapport with my students. I graduated from the Victoria Conservatory of Music in 1980, with an associate degree in cello performance. I have given many solo recitals and performed with professional orchestras.
