Over 40 years experience teaching students of all ages, over 30 years experience as examiner for RCM and adjudicator. I am on Faculty at Mount Royal University Conservatory, but do the bulk of my teaching in my N.W. home studio. Other professional activities include extensive collaborative work, RCM examining, adjudicating and guest teaching. I prefer students age 8 and above and level 5 RCM and above, although will consider lower ages and levels on an individual basis after assessing suitability. I prefer students who are serious and committed to their musical studies. I also love working with adults of all ages and abilities. Teaching availability is Monday to Thursday including mornings--I very much enjoy morning and before school teaching. My teaching philosophy is simply to work individually with each student to help them realize their full potential, to foster a lifelong love and appreciation of music, and the arts, and to create self-sufficiency and independent thinkers. Open to world wide online teaching , guest teaching, pedagogical consulting.
