Katelyn Murphy

I am a teacher and student working towards my ARCT in Piano Performance through RCM, and I love sharing the joy of music with others! I started a small teaching business as a teenager out of my home in a small town just outside of London, ON., and I have loved mentoring my students ever since; I support students of all ages and levels of ability to achieve their goals in piano, and I love seeing my student's joy when they succeed! My teaching style is always based in theory and technique from day one, but from a simplistic and approachable method for every ability. I encourage independent learning and practicing in my students from the beginning of their learning journey, and I always foster the creative passions that follow! I enjoy tailoring lessons towards student's goals, needs, and interests, while trying to incorporate studying a wide range of eras & genres of music. I try to focus on studying piano through a lens of curiosity and interest, rather than simply to prepare a student for the next exam. I hope to teach you soon!
