Mrs. Joyce Smith, B.Mus. (University of Alberta), A.Mus., (Western Board of Music) runs a thriving studio from her home. Additionally, she facilitates two satellite studios, as well as teaching students on-line. She teaches Piano, Theory, Advanced Theory (including Music History), Accompaniment (for choirs, large groups, and small ensembles), and Pedagogy. Her experience involve choir accompaniment, sacred music, and accompaniment for numerous small ensembles. She also offers free age-based group lessons for her students in a non-threatening environment of cooperation and understanding. Group lessons may include Theory, Keyboard Harmony, Improvisation, Performance, Music history, and more. With her involvement in the Alberta Music Teachers' Association and the Suzuki Association of the Americas, opportunities exist for student participation in the larger musical community: workshops, institutes, conferences, and conventions. She loves sharing her love of music with her students!
