Hello there! I am a dedicated and enthusiastic piano teacher who enjoys working with students of all levels and ages -- young beginners through adults. I maintain high standards in my teaching, while at the same time keeping lessons calm and fun for all. I use a strong ear-based approach (based on the "audiation" research of Edwin E. Gordon's Music Learning Theory), while also producing strong music readers. I use the RCM Celebration Series books with nearly all of my students due to its outstanding, motivating repertoire, while giving students the choice whether or not to participate in RCM evaluations. I do everything I can to ensure students are well-prepared for their exams, and they tend to score extremely well. I have a Masters Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy and am author of a popular blog for piano teachers at ColorInMyPiano.com. Please visit my studio website learn more about my lessons: PianoStudio.JoyMorin.com.
