Hamid Reza Rezaei

Hamid Reza Rezaei, is a distinguished Iranian musician and RCM (The Royal Conservatory of Music)-certified piano teacher in Canada. He, who is a pianist, composer, researcher and music teacher, as well as a mechanical engineer, was born in Tehran in 1965 and has spent over five decades in the music world, with more than four decades dedicated to professional experience, particularly teaching students privately and in music faculties of universities in Iran. Thus, with a comprehensive background in performance, recording, research and teaching, he offers exceptional and unique training in piano playing, music theory, harmony, counterpoint, Radif of Iranian music, solfeggio and ear training, music dictation, music softwares, choir, orchestra, acoustics, composition and soundtrack, tailored to the needs and goals of each student. Throughout his extensive teaching career, Rezaei has trained over 1000 students, many of whom have achieved great success in Iran and Canada, advancing to high levels. Several of his students, both in Iran and Canada, have successfully passed the Royal Conservatory of Music's exams, from the preparatory A level to the highest levels, in piano and theoretical subjects, with high honors. Rezaei's impressive resume also includes: Invention of a patented new mechanism for the piano which includes Iranian musical intervals, demonstrating his innovative approach to music and technology; Composition of over 10 full-length soundtracks for series and movies, showcasing his skills in composition and music production and leading him to be selected as one of the best composers of soundtrack for the TV series "Under Your Patronage; Technical editing of the influential music theory books "Fundamental Music Theory" by Parviz Mansouri and "Music Theory" by Mostafa Kamal Pourtorab; Authoring of a chapter in the book "Theoretical and Practical Foundations of soundtrack"; Authoring of several articles in Iranian magazines; Organizing the first university music concert after the revolution in Iran; Conducting and arranging for Iranian orchestra concerts; and Presenting of the course "Computer in Music" for the first time in Iranian universities, including complete lesson plans, materials and teaching for it. Rezaei is a permanent member of the Iranian Music House and has been active in the "Teachers" and "Composers, Choral and Orchestra Conductors" committees. Additionally, he has served as the chairman and member of the "Music Word Selection" Committee at the "Academy of Persian Language and Literature" for over 16 years and also the member of "Iranian Music Vanguards" at the "Academy of Art". He has also served as a jury member for the "Tehran Soloists Festival" at the "Bahman Cultural Center" and as an examiner for student theses at the University of the Art. He has delivered lectures on topics such as "The Role of Fuzzy Thinking in Music" at the "Fuzzy Mathematics and Media Conference" held at the University of Radio and Television, and "Engineering Thinking in Music" at the Art Cultural Center, as well as on his invention (the new piano mechanism) at the University of Art and cultural centers, for the first time in Iran. Rezaei holds a Master's degree in Art Research, a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iran, as well as a Piano Teaching Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada.
