Elizabeth Brown

Elizabeth Brown is an oboist, adventurer, and gardener. Born and raised in Powell River, British Columbia, she holds a Bachelor of Music from UBC and an Artist Diploma from the Vancouver Academy of Music and has studied with Marea Chernoff and Beth Orson. Ms. Brown was awarded the 2004 and 2005 Mildred Johnson Scholarship in Music, the 2007 and 2008 Vancouver Academy of Music College Scholarship, and the 2007 W. R. Bingham Family Scholarship. Ms Brown is the Artistic Director and oboist and english hornist for the Untitled Ensemble Chamber Music Society, a chamber music group dedicated to playing underplayed and forgotten works with an emphasis on works by womxn and non binary composers. As well as performing, Elizabeth teaches oboe, and english horn online, and in person in Kitchener, Ontario. When not making music, Elizabeth likes to sail, garden, assure her cats Hotdog and Bacon that they are the best cats, and plan concert repertoire.
