Dianne Winmill is a passionate and inspiring music educator from Bancroft, Ontario. She has taught high school band, choral, musical theatre, and guitar with the HPEDSB since 1995, successfully guiding her students through over 80 RCM exams completed on 12 different instruments, voice, and theory. She studied piano and trombone during her undergraduate music studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she also performed with the Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and numerous jazz and concert choirs. In 2017, she was chosen as the Canadian Music Teacher of the Year by MusiCounts, Canada's Music Education charity, for which she was presented a JUNO award by Canadian band, Blue Rodeo. Dianne adjudicates and consults on music education initiatives in our province and nationally.
