Pianist and composer David McEvoy was the winner of the Clarington Readers' Choice Award and the 3rd Place winner of the Oshawa/Whitby Readers' Choice Award for Best Musical Instructor 2018. He has worked as an instructor in music theory and history at the university level and was the Intermediate Piano adjudicator for the Kitchener-Waterloo Kiwanis Music Festival 2017 and the Guelph Kiwanis Music Festival 2018. Every student David has prepared for a Royal Conservatory examination has achieved a standing of Honours or higher.
In addition to his teaching activities, David is an international concert artist. He holds a Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory, was an instrumental piano fellow of the Tanglewood Music Center (2015), a solo piano fellow of the Music Academy of the West (2014), and a finalist in the 2012 Knigge National Piano Competition as well as the 2012 TD Canada Trust Elora Festival National Competition. He has studied with many eminent artists including Emanuel Ax, Stephen Hough, Garrick Ohlsson, Jeremy Denk, and Jonathan Biss.
