Bryn Blackwood

I am a classically-trained pianist with a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Toronto, studying with the late acclaimed pedagogue Marietta Orlov. I won the 2019 Eckhardt-Gramatte National Music Competition, and was featured in the CBC's 30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians Under 30 list in that year. I am able to teach many styles - Classical, Jazz, Pop, and others, and often encourage students to venture outside their comfort zone. I strive to communicate my own love and enthusiasm for the piano repertoire in lessons, and create a positive atmosphere that facilitates effective learning.
