Bang Lang Do

I taught for over 35 years, from age 3 to age 82, in private music schools, Community Colleges, Universities and K-12 public schools. After my Doctorate, and tours across Canada for Contemporary music, I moved a lot, so I adapted a lot. From Brandon University in Manitoba to Peabody, Mahidol University in Thailand to Colleges in Iowa and California, my students ranged from Masters degree in Piano Performance to complete beginners, adults or children. What brings me the most pleasure is to see a person grow, not only musically, but maintaining the joy of learning, of music creation, and gaining self-efficacy, confidence, expressive outlet, and fearlessness. While I am able to solve many technical problems, integrative to musicality, or teach breathing exercises for anxiety as well as brain exercises for memory and concentration, and have many former students pursuing a career in music, I also enjoy the curiosity of someone who is a life-long open-minded learner. I started improvisation and composition after years of performance and teaching, so it's never too late to learn!
