Audrey Jean Wells has studied flute at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, the Faculty of Music at The University of Western Ontario and has attended Master Classes given by such artists as Sir James Galway, Jeanne Baxtresser, Emmanuel Pahud, Robert Langevin, Donald Peck and the late Geoffrey Gilbert, to name a few.
She is an active member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ORMTA), The Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Associations, The Canadian Flute Association, The National Flute Association (U.S.A.), the Alliance for Canadian New Music Projects, and the Ottawa Flute Association. She is the Timmins Centre Representative for RCM examinations, and is an RCM Certified Teacher for both flute and theory.
Ms. Wells has been teaching and performing in the Timmins area since 1982. Her students have won top awards and scholarships in music festivals, competitions and examinations at the local and provincial levels. Two of her students have won the Silver Medal of the RCM for achieving the highest mark on woodwind examinations in the Province of Ontario. She also teaches music rudiments.
