Anni Yu, a classically trained violinist hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, has emerged as a rising force in the world of music. Her journey began at the age of 8, when she started taking lessons in violin and piano. She came to love and excel in both instruments; however, it was her profound passion for the violin that steered her path. Over the years, Anni honed her skills as a violinist. She made appearances as a soloist with numerous orchestras including the Edmonton Youth Orchestra, Edmonton Philharmonic Orchestra, and Concordia Symphony Orchestra, where her performances left an indelible mark on audiences. At the age of 14, Anni embarked on a transformative journey by relocating to New York to pursue her musical aspirations. She earned both a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in violin performance at the Mannes School of Music, honing her craft under the guidance of esteemed mentors such as Lewis Kaplan and Yibin Li. Her remarkable dedication led her to be appointed as the concertmaster of the Mannes orchestra, showcasing her exceptional leadership and musical prowess in the ensemble’s major concerts, which included a number of world and New York premieres of iconic modern classical works. Anni's career has graced some of the most renowned stages in New York City, with performances at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Sony Hall for New York Fashion Week. Beyond her life on stage, Anni's passion extends to the realm of education. She has been a dedicated music teacher since 2016, offering instruction in violin, viola, piano, and music theory to individuals of all ages. Her commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians is a testament to her deep love for the art. Anni's influence extends to the digital sphere as @YuAViolin, where she has gained substantial recognition and a massive following on social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
