"Anna is such a fantastic teacher! She is so calm, lovely, and encouraging, and my son adores her lessons. She is always patient, and in tune with my child’s level of ability. I feel lucky that my son’s introduction to music, and his musical development is with Anna". – Sylvie, parent
As a music educator— teaching private and small group classes in piano, theory and composition— my primary goals are to support artistic excellence and cultivate a love for music in my students. Currently, I feel blessed to work with a lovely group of piano and theory students in downtown Victoria, BC. Students range in ability from Beginner Level to Grade 10 RCM and my teaching studio specializes in working with adult students.
Classes are conducted online as well as in-person. I support the Royal Conservatory program in my lesson planning, and many of my students have successfully completed piano and theory exams through the RCM examinations system.
I am also actively involved in new music. As a Juno-nominated composer, I collaborate regularly with musicians in the contemporary composition community. I have taught music composition at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Victoria and hold a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Toronto (2013).
