Anika-France Forget

Anika-France Forget

French-Canadian mezzo-soprano and composer Anika-France Forget has been noted for her exemplary stage presence, and for being playful and vocally impressive. Prior to becoming a Sidgwick Scholar with the Orpheus Choir of Toronto in 2020, she tackled—with the help of VOICEBOX: Opera in Concert Chorus Director Robert Cooper—the precise rhythms of Ravel, playing the role of Concepción in L’heure espagnole. Anika-France has also participated in numerous masterclasses, including those with Joyce DiDonato, Sarah Connolly, Julia Bullock, Richard Hetherington, Ann Murray, and Graham Johnson. Most recently, she was awarded the 2021 Delius Society Prize during the London Song Festival in December and she was also invited as a finalist during the prestigious Susan Longfield Competition in March 2022. Being a proud recipient of a Leverhulme Arts Scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, U.K., she has the privilege of studying classical singing with soprano Marilyn Rees.
