Abraham Olaniyi Ogunmola I am a passionate and certified music teacher with almost three decades of educating, entertaining, showcasing, and nurturing musical talents of all ages across the globe. I shared a strong ideology that says music is sound, I believe everyone has a talent, and it takes three to make music: Composer, performer, and audience. I have Level 8 Piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Kodaly Level 1, Orff Level 1, and Choral Conducting from Georgia State University, GA, and Boston University MA respectively. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife Nigeria and a Master of Arts in Community Music from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo. An active member of the Ontario Registered Music Teacher (ORMTA), Ontario Music Educator Association (OMEA), and Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) in good standing and Choral Canada. As an undergraduate in 1995, I founded the Music Language Society at Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Nigeria. I organized and directed a concert tagged "Mozart at 5" to officially launch this music school at Oduduwa Hall on April 22, 1995. After graduation, the name was changed from Music Language Society to Music Language School to the concept of music being a universal language. The school motto is "Non-Scholae Sed vitae" (Not for School but for Life). It is a place to discover and nurture everyone's musical talents and gifts. I enjoy teaching children and adults of all ages from different backgrounds as private & individual lessons in voice, piano & rudiments. As an experienced music educator, I taught Piano, Voice, Percussion, and Recorder, and served as a Collaborative pianist at American International School Lagos. As Director of Music at St. Saviour’s School Ikoyi, I organized a musical recital, talent shows, school choir, and orchestra and conducted weekly assemblies, Christmas concerts, and end-of-year musical productions. I teach Classical, Gospel Jazz, African folk songs, Pop, choruses, worship and praise, and Hymns. As part of my passion for choral music, in 2007, I sang tenor in the presentation of the evergreen and famous Handel's Oratorio “Handel Messiah” performed by the prestigious MUSON (Musical Society of Nigeria) choir during their annual MUSON festival. I single-handedly organized and directed the concert to mark Nigeria’s 50th independence Celebration tagged “God Bless Nigeria” in 2010 at MUSON Center, Lagos as part of my service to my community, As a Choir Director, Every school where I worked won first place at the MUSON Schools’ Choir competition in the following schools: American International School of Lagos 2005, St Saviour’s School Ikoyi 2011 & 2012, and Meadow Hall School, Lekki 2019. I presented students for ABRSM and RCM in Piano, Voice, Theory, and Rudiments examinations. My students have won first place in MUSON piano competitions (Solo and Duet categories).
