World Drumming Ensemble incorporates the traditional drumming rhythmic principals, song forms, and movement, stemming from Africa, Brazil, Cuba, and South India.
Students will develop foundational hand and stick drumming and percussion techniques and the control to apply these to a wide variety of drums including but not limited to congas, djembe, kpanlogo, bongos, bells, and shakers.
This class is for drummers, music educators, hobbyists, and multi-instrumentalists alike. You will develop musical skill sets such as: personal expression, music participation, communication, improvisation, listening, cooperative teamwork, discipline, and historical and cultural musical context. The teaching methodology presented in this exciting workshop includes authentic interactive, creative, and fun drumming and musical approaches.
Beginner to advanced drummers are welcome!
