Marlena Coate

Marlena Coate holds a Music Degree from the University of Toronto, ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance from The Royal Conservatory, Kodaly Pedagogy Certificate Level 1, Orff Pedagogy Levels 1 and 2 Certificate from The Royal Conservatory and she is trained as a Smart Start teacher.

She studied piano with Boyana Toyich and James Anagnoson at the Royal Conservatory. Marlena has completed the Suzuki Piano Teacher Training at the San Francisco, Chicago and Kingston Suzuki Institutes and is a member of the Suzuki Association of Ontario. In 1988 she began teaching Suzuki and traditional piano for the Royal Conservatory and later taught piano group classes, theory classes and Smart Start. She has served as a member of The Royal Conservatory of Music College of Examiners and has examined and adjudicated piano and other disciplines across Canada.
