Marydean Morrison

Marydean Morrison holds an A.R.C.T from The Royal Conservatory, a Bachelor of Music (Mount Allison University), and a Bachelor of Education (OTEC). She has been the winner of the "Best of Toronto" 2000 Reader's Poll Award for Best Music Teacher.

Much sought after for her years of experience and dedication to her students, Ms. Morrison has established herself as a successful piano teacher within the Oscar Peterson School of Music of The Royal Conservatory of Music. Ms. Morrison’s teaching encompasses a wide range of ages from young ones to retired folk, believing that music lessons are for everyone. Ms. Morrison provides a supportive, flexible, and patient learning environment, with students participating in music festivals, recitals and RCM examinations. In addition to her investment in her students, she attends workshops and clinics in Piano pedagogy to maintain a high quality of teaching.

Ms. Morrison also studied with Melville Cook and is active as a church organist, accompanist, chamber musician, and performer of string trio community recitals. In addition, she is a parent volunteer in the Toronto Board of Education’s school music programs. She has belonged to The Royal Conservatory faculty since 1974 and is a member of the RCM College of examiners. In her spare time, Ms. Morrison enjoys reading, cycling and hiking.
