The third and final addition to the Deans’ Lecture Series, features special guest Sandra Laronde – Executive & Artistic Director, Red Sky Performance. This is a chance to learn more about Sandra’s unique and extraordinary career as an arts leader, creator and innovator.  This online event takes place on April 12 at 7 p.m. EST. Advance registration is required.

Isabella Perron (BMus ‘24, violin) and David Liam Roberts (BMus ‘22, cello) are among the six finalists for the 44th edition of the E-Gré Competition in strings. Finalists will livestream their final recitals from safe performance spaces on Saturday, April 17.  The awards ceremony is the following day.

Godwin Friesen (BMus ’20 / ADP ’22, piano) has been announced as one of the ten semi-finalists for the PianoArts North American Competition.  The semifinal round is schedule for March 24-28, with finals taking place on June 1 & 2.

Michael Bridge (2020-21 Rebanks Fellow, accordion) was recently announced by the Women's Musical Club of Toronto as its 2021 Career Development Award Winner. Awarded every three years, the winner receives a cash prize plus a recital as part of the WMCT’s 2022-23 Music in the Afternoon series.

Rebekah Wolkstein (ADP ’07, violin) participated in the recently released dance film “Tango in the Dark” with her ensemble Payadora Tango Ensemble. This film features the dancers of PointeTango Dance Company performing to works composed by the ensemble, including those by Wolkstein herself.  Its streaming online for the month of March – with a “pay what you can” admission.

Three GGS alumni have recently been signed for representation. Rossina Greico (PDP ’18 / ADP ’20, piano) was signed by Polyphony Arts (UK), Richard Narroway (2018-19 Rebanks Fellow, cello) was signed by Emblem Artists (AU) and Joanna Wu (2016-17 Rebanks Fellow, flute) joined the Haynes Artist roster of distinguished international flautists.
